Description

The Bar-Bar-A automatic non-electric horse waterers are the most mechanically advanced form of watering horses on the market. With over 3o years of horse watering experience we offer a product that is not in the test stages of its product cycle but matured and advanced in every way possible. From the size of the bowl, to the drain and fill times, to the convenient methods available for maintenance; the company has refined and upgraded over the years to craft a product that is reliable and easy for caretakers to maintain. In addition, horses prefer the Bar-Bar-A over competitors units because the water temperature is consistent throughout the year and there is no bad tasting water that can result from standing water filled with bacteria and algae.

Each model available for your selection is 100% made in the USA and designed to provide clean fresh water in the safest way possible- without electricity to present potential harm to your horses.

I’ve had 3 of these waterers for 10 years now. They work even when we have unusually high amounts of snowfall (fairly rare in our area but it does happen). Most important however is that when the horse is no longer drinking (no longer pushing down the pedal) the water flows back down into the system and out of the bowl. This prevents algae, dirt and grime from building up in the bowl where the horse is drinking. It’s a much healthier and safer automatic waterer. I used at least two other name brand waterers previous to these and I had problems, pieces routinely broke or the water didn’t flow back down and the bowl was nasty. These are great waterers!

Love it we had very bad winter last, O degrees weeks at a time. Have 7 head horses draft to miniature horses. They all used successfully. Can’t say enough good about it!

      Thanks Again!

I’ve had one for over 10 years, And it’s everything it says! Never freezes, and Don’t have to worry about keeping a tank full or drowned mice in the tank!

Rodents, racoons, and skunks all are disappointed with our unit because there is no standing water for them to drink from. That means no bacteria and germs from these animals being transferred to your horses, cows, and goats. Thanks.

I have been using these waters for 20 years and I can’t say enough good about them. I have 3 of them. I had rented my place out for a bit and my renter had 20+ horses on one of them and absolutely no problems with it! I live in Colorado and it gets COLD here! I don’t even check them! I know that they are working fine.

    • David Anderson (verified owner)

Thanks for your 20 years as a customer.

Horses won’t use unless I hold the paddle down to keep tub filled. Sun makes paddle too hot & horses won’t use. Paddle is too hard to push down, discouraging horses when it takes too long to get water going.

Thanks for your comments. We can help you with all of those issues. We have never had a horse not able to learn to use the unit and yours will probably not be the first. The heat of the paddle is not an issue as horses push the aluminum paddle with their hair covered chin. What is warm to your skinless hands is not a problem of the hairy chin with skin 20 times thicker than humans. If your water is coming up slowly it is a sign that a drain valve is need of being changed. Please call 800-451-2230 and we can get one of our techs. to call you and help you with this. Thanks. I just installed 2 of these units this past fall in a climate thats averaged about 20 degrees this winter with 10’ plus feet of snow. They have worked perfectly and kept my horses with fresh drinking water. I was skeptical that they would freeze up in my environment, I cleaned the filters and they just keep working. I would highly recommend these units, thanks Dave.
