WHO WE ARE

At Bar Bar A, we produce products that are friendly to animals, the environment, and you. Over 25 years ago, the inventor Frank Frodsham had horses who wouldn’t drink from their new electric automatic waterer. The vet couldn’t determine what was wrong, but when he stuck his finger into the horse drinker, he got shocked. They realized the horses were being shocked every time they tried to drink.

Frank immediately pulled the plug and got to work making a better automatic waterer, and the Bar Bar A horse drinker was born. Today, Bar Bar A continues to strive for excellence, producing products from horse drinkers to waterers for all your livestock right here in the USA that improve the health and wellbeing of your animals, while also being affordable and easy to maintain.

OUR PRODUCTS

about horse drinker Bar Bar A USA

Horse / Donkey / Mule Automatic Waterers

Our horse drinkers are suitable for both barns and pastures. They enable your horses, donkeys, or mules to have easy access to fresh, clean, temperate water all year round, making keeping your animals hydrated easier than ever. There’s no need to worry about algae, ice, or electricity shocking your horses. Our non-electric automatic horse drinkers help your horses drink enough – without you needing to lug water buckets or fill troughs.

Cattle Automatic Waterers

Hydration is key to healthy cattle that put on the pounds as needed. However, open water can spread diseases, icy or hot standing water or dirty water can prevent proper hydration, and not having easy access to water sources can affect cattle’s health. Our cattle automatic waterers improve production by improving the health and hydration of your cows with better water consumption.

Sheep / Goat Automatic Waterers

For proper wool and meat production, you need healthy, hydrated sheep and goats. This can be a challenge if the water is too hot or too cold for animals to comfortably drink, if it’s dirty, or if it’s not readily accessible. Sheep and goats are quick learners who can easily figure out how to use a sheep / goat automatic waterer, thus making one part of keeping them healthy easier on you.

Wild Game Automatic Waterers

Game animals are accustomed to drinking out of natural water sources, like streams and lakes. However, natural resources aren’t always reliable, which makes wild game automatic waterers handy to install. Game animals can quickly learn how to use these waterers, enticing them to your property and keeping them healthier overall.

Llama Automatic Waterers

Llamas may have a more efficient digestive system than horses or cows, but this doesn’t make their need for proper hydration any less pressing. To ensure proper wool and milk production, you need healthy, hydrated llamas. Our llama automatic waterers are easy for llamas to learn how to use and suit your needs, whether you only have one llama or you have a small herd of them.

Pig / Hog Automatic Waterers

Just like any other animal, pigs need water to stay healthy. Proper hydration enhances weight gain and allows for better quality meat. Hogs will consume anywhere from 2-5 gallons of water per day, which can be challenging to stay on top of without an automatic waterer, especially with how messy these animals can be. Our pig waterers make seeing to your animals’ hydration needs a breeze.

HOW IT WORKS

The Bar Bar A automatic horse drinkers and livestock waterers are engineered to function like frost-free hydrants – but to water animals with. They connect to your water line, so that water comes up when your animals need it and drains back down when they’re done drinking. This ensures that they always have fresh, temperate, clean water, year-round.

Here’s how they work:

  • Animals press down on the paddle.
  • Water comes up, and the animals drink.
  • Once the animal is done drinking and releases the paddle, water drains back down.

With no standing water, you don’t have to worry about algae growth, mosquitos, ice, or other such issues. Since our horse drinkers and livestock waterers don’t use electricity, there’s no need to worry about your animals being shocked either.

While animals are quick learners, our automatic waterers and horse drinkers do have a training mode to make the learning process easier.

1 - Paddle:

The animal’s nose naturally brushes against the paddle, triggering the supply valve to open … filling the water bowl.

2

2 - Black Drinker Top:

Made from tough cross-link polyethylene material that is UV safe.

3

3 - Water Bowl:

The water bowl fills with water and then automatically drains. No stagnant water to freeze or grow algae.

4

4 - Supply Pipe:

Fills the water bowl and then drains the excess water back into the drain field.

5

5 - Cross-Link Well Casing:

Tough cross-link well reaches below the frost line to house water supply, valve, and insulator.

6

6 - Insulator:

For severe climates, the drinker comes with an insulator which keeps freezing air from reaching the supply line and valve.

7

7 - Valve:

The valve is below frontline to prevent freezing.

8

8 - Drain Valve:

Drain Valve drains water from bowl and line after each drink.

9

9 - Water Supply:

The flexible supply hose allows entire assembly to be lifted out of the ground, while well casing remains stationary.
